Vintage Chick
This is another made-for-Quilt-Market shirt (Simplicity 3835), although it never made the cut at the show because I felt a little too whimsical in it. It's made with what is possibly the best vintage chicken fabric of all time (thanks, Cicely) — though, this fabric is a serious rival. I wore this outfit to our preschool parent/teacher conference today and it got good reception. In my world, at least for me, this is considered "dressed up." Can I tell you how much that pleases me?
$20 target cardigan + home-sewn tunic from gifted, vintage fabric + $25 cords from the camping store + hand-knit hat + my sister's lipstick = "Dressed Up"

Looking good! I love that fabric, too. What a great score. :) Great posing in the last couple of posts, too.
You're all fun and happy, love it!
So cute, so darn cute!
LOVE it.
This is an adorable outfit. I have no style. I bemoan it constantly, but simply have no knack for dressing myself well. On halloween I wore a black dress with black tights and red mary-jane crocs. Tied a big black ribbon around my neck and put my short-ish hair as up as it would go. my friends were impressed at my efforts.
you look fantastic!!
i'm drooling over the chicken fabric.
I love your style. It is momy-ish and fun.
i love the photos of yourself that is cool. besides the vignette soft edges, its great to see a face!
That fabric is beyond wonderful. It makes me smile. And reminds me of wallpaper from a house I lived in ages ago. I now have to add vintage chicken fabric to my eBay searches!
Thanks!

I love that top so much that I had to just rush out and buy the pattern and luckily I could get it here in New Zealand! I wish I didn't have to work today or I would make it :) Thanks so much for the inspiration.... now if I could just figure out how to make my body look like yours as well - lol!
