I Made It! Wardrobe (part 2): The T-shirt Replacement

6_shirts
Part two in the series of posts documenting sewing my own clothes over the past year-and-a-half.

These shirts are soooooo much better than my yucky old t-shirts. I just want to make more and more. This way I get to hang out with my stash on a daily basis. I've written lots more about how much I love this pattern over here.

Go over to the flickr set to see them embiggened.

P.S. I wanted to point out that on the shirts and skirts (previous post) I used a clothes pin to make the clothes fit the form better.

Both - the shirts and the skirts - look really great. And that is something to be proud of. I am still dreaming of sewing my own garment, not actually making it.

I can stand it no longer!! I must get this pattern, it looks so good and I hate my old grubby T-shirts ;)
Great fabric choices btw.

These are so great! I have some skirts done for this summer (I'll post on flickr - blogless) but I've been quite inspired by your shirts. I bought a similar shirt at Target (someone asked me if it was Hermes!?!), and I wanted to make some for myself. I'm going to try...

Thanks for the inspiration. I love blogland because I don't know people in my real life who get so fired up about such things.

Embiggened. That is my new favorite word.
I have closet envy. I want to look in my closet and see more things I have sewn. I am almost inspired. I need my inspiration to get a little more embiggened, then I can do it.

michelle, I need to make a paper dollie, print out these great clothes and play dress up! Really, all so wonderful. I had to open two windows so i could mix and match all your new skirts and tops.

I have to say, you're making us t-shirt wearers look real bad. That skull fabric is the greatest!

Beautiful tshirts! I love those bright colors and fresh patterns! I just pitched a bunch of my stuff! I think I need to do some replacing now!

The new popularity of these shirts cracks me up -- I remember my grandma (who made her own clothes too) wearing them in the '70's. Oh, how I wish I'd saved them.

Oh hallelujah, I have been trying to remember who gave the tip about how to size the t-shirts for us ample boobed ladies! Thanks! I love all the colour and pattern in your wardrobe and feel inspired to raid my stash and get making something.

I do love that pattern! Your shirts are great...if only I had half as many handmade outfits. Someday! Perhaps that's why summer is coming?

All of the shirts are lovely.

I love peeking into my closet and seeing my shirts and skirts all lined up. Such a satisfying feeling.

Beautiful work!
I'm due for a wardrobe
makeover...but I can't say that I'll be making my own clothes.
You are lucky and talented to be able to do that.

Gorgeous! And inspirational, too. I do sew for myself occasionally, but not nearly often enough.

I have to tell you that you have managed to spark a "sew for me" attitude...I am discouraged that I have to go out of town for fun and I can't stay home this weekend to sew for myself...something is wrong with this statement.

Thank you for the inspiration!

Wow, color me impressed. I get so sick of seeing my tee shirts get stained after one day of wearing with a 3 year old!
