Do your b**bs hang low?

Do they wobble to an fro?
Can you tie them in a knot?
Can you tie them in a bow?
Can you throw them over your shoulder
like a Continental soldier?
Do your b**bs hang low?

Mine are hanging low, and the blown-out nursing bras aren't helping much.

I totally need to buy some bras. I'm close to weaning the little guy. Should I wait until then? Any leads on where to get good bras? I haven't had a regular bra in six years, probably haven't bought one in eight.

*****I had to edit the title because I've already gotten about ten google searches leading to this post.

i'm guessing it's best to wait until you're done nursing to get a new bra.

not sure what cup size range you are in, but on the off chance you're of the bigger cup size, i'd recommend the following:

http://www.bravissimo.com/
http://www.herroom.com/

also, it's REALLY important to get professionally measured. get a second opinion too, from another place just to make sure. most gals are NOT wearing the right size bra for them, and it shows.

Well, my recommendation is to wait until you're done.

Mine, on top of "hanging loose" even got smaller ...

no other tipps from here

After not owning a regular bra myself for 6 years I decided to buy a regular bra while I was weaning baby #3. It was for the times when I wasn't with the little one. For some reason I needed it at that time. Obviously, my bra size changed over time. I'm a Victoria Secret Body bra girl. Good lift and support and basically seamless. Good luck.

My guess is that since your little guy is 2-ish (isn't he?) that your size isn't going to change a great deal when you wean him completely. I'd get new bras now. I am not an Oprahphile, but wearing a well-fitted bra makes a huge difference in how your clothes fit and how you feel in them. Definitely get professionally fitted. The ladies at Nordstrom are really very helpful and kind, even if the bra you come in wearing is bad. Maybe especially if your current bra is bad.

well, michelle, *oprah* would say - get a professional fitting.

i'm really happy with the body gap bras.

if your nursing bras are really shot - definitely get a new one! you deserve it. sure you'll eventually change size/shape/whatever (maybe), but that will take more than 24 hours. go ahead and get a new bra!

I second a fitting a Nordstrom's... It can be a bit snooty, but I've decided it's probably worth it in the end.

The thing about Nordstrom that's great is they'll bring you a million bras to your dressing room. The thing that's bad is they are spendy and once, I had a woman try to convince me I just needed to buy a new black bra when I barely wear dark bras because, even if my heart is blacker than black, I tend to wear light-colored tops frequently. The other good thing about Nordstrom vs Victoria's Secret is you can immediately try on some different tops to see how the whole ensemble is working out. VS has limited sizes, too. (Or so I've heard; I'm not a big boob girl so haven't exactly encountered this problem.)

I found "Green Kitchen" on Abby Try Again, and linked here thinking you might be an inspired vegan cook. Seriously. But you're a craft rock star singing about b*^bs: I think I'm in love. Wish I could help, but after breastfeeding two, I buy my bras in the kids dept. at the big T.

nordstrom for certain - and bra's are expensive, no two ways about it, but after buying my last one after losing weight i kept getting comments on how perky my boobs looked... so hey, it was worth any price for that. course the comments were from women and a gay man, but still...

Gravity has taken hold of mine...I wear a bigger shoe size now.haha!
BUT I need new ones (bras AND b**bs) badly so I am definitely going to Nordstrom.(I've also heard they are very good at fit but spendy). BUT I'd rather pay extra to have my shoes fit better. haha again.

Swing loooow, sweet chariot. Oh yes. I can tell where not to go - Victoria's Secret (the bras are all made out of neoprene - I swear) and Lane Bryant. I am going to have to try Nordstroms.

get one or two new bras now and wait a few months after weaning to get new bras.

I hate bra shopping. It is hell, trying all those thingys on in those unflatteringly lit dressing rooms - yuck. i have never gottened measured professionally. i would be so embarrassed...but then I am wearing an old nursing bra that needs to be thrown away....

Every woman is different. I didn't change in size at all after weaning and it's been 5 months. There is definitely a change in density, but not size.

Good luck finding a new bra, I'm on the hunt as well. My sisters are both big boobed gals and they LOVE Lane Bryant. Haven't tried them out yet.
Hang in there (he he)

Clicked over to see how others responded.
It's been six years since my last bra (between the weaning of one and the pregnancy of the next one)and I, too, have been pondering about this lately, but not singing about it, at least not until NOW, thank you very much.
Never have had a professional fitting, and probably have never had a properly fitting bra either. But, I never used to have much of anything to put in one anyways until the boys came along into our lives.
I haven't shopped there in 15 plus years but, based on all the comments, it looks like I'm due for a visit to Nordstroms next time I'm back in the city.

Stick with maternity bras. I didn't completely wait and when I wore a regular bra, it was horrible. It didn't feel right. It didn't fit right. You might want to even try a sports bra before the transition.

De-lurking to say Spanx makes a bra that's suppose to hold it all together, my mom's got one and loves it. I've been waiting for mine to get back in shape. I weaned a year ago. I don't think it is going to happen. maybe I should just get the Bra-llelujah now. By the way love your blog!

You made my day! I don't have any advice but just wanted to say I appreciate the post and those that did give advice. I just finished nursing my 2nd about a month ago. I did shrink and yet I'm still not fitting into my pre-baby bras. How did I wear those things? Or does it have to do with all the extra skin!?! I had decided to treat myself to really good bras when I was done and here we are. Perfect timing!

Singing along with you girl.I was still breast feeding my 16 month old when we found out we were pregnant with number 3. Hayden is 7 months and i had my tubes tied, and guess who is pregnant, MEMEME so I had to wean Hayden because of cramping. I swear to God that I when I am braless, I am going to have to tuck them in my waistband.

Besides DH's comment asking me if I was trying out to be in National Geographic

I love Victoria's Secret bras. Have them measure you so you get one that fits. I kept popping out of the first one I bought(when I would bend over) because the cup size was too small. Get a pretty one and you'll have him weaned in a day. That is, if you want to. Good Luck!

If you're on the larger side, Bravissimo is wonderful, but a little more pricey with the exchange rate, or try Cacique. The balconette bras are fabulous and the website carries many sizes that they stores don't stock at all.
