Blogiversary
Yep, I'm using that word even though my sister said, "Did you just say blogiversary?"
So, I'm sitting here tonight, have finally gotten the kids to sleep (the sick one for the second time), and I'm not feeling great. I say to my husband, "I can't think any nice thoughts." Sometimes I'm like that. It's been a rough week/month of fevers, rattly coughs, and lots of snot. I'm a bit of a pessimist, on the negative side, for sure. This combined with taking care of sick kids really gets me down, turns up my inner hypochondriac. I worry. I'm not feeling the joy.
Then, I remember I have an idea all set up for my blogiversary photo and there's still a little time and energy left. So, here it is — a stack of my favorite tins — a craft cake of sorts. A little bit of joy on a dark night.
Art Blakey said, "Jazz washes away the dust of everyday life." I feel that way about craft blogs. Thanks everybody.

happy blogiversary to you! you are a great gift to the world - crappy thoughts and all... thanks for being out there, you have made for a wonderful year.
brilliant idea for a picture - i love it! hope you are all right as rain soon :)
Happy Blogiversary! I love the photo. :)
You're not the only occasional resident of Poopadopolis. I love the grumbly part of you just as much as all the other parts. You are a huge source of inspiration and support. I appreciate you, and your wonderful blog, very much.
Here's a toast for many more years of Green Kitchen ... hip hip hooray!
Man, I'd be cranky too if The Sick invaded my house as often as yours. I am itching to get together and Make Stuff, though it'll be a few months yet before I don't always have my hands full of baby.
Happy word-we-all-dislike!
You're such a talented woman, love your blog and many happy returns for your blogiversary...
Happy Blogiversary!
(And get well soon) ;-)
Happy Blogiversary, Michelle! Lovely shot of the tins...I'm glad you remembered it.
I think the apt quotation and your last lines sumnit up for a lot of us.
I can relate to your post...my heart goes out to you....almost feel like I could've written it! Love what you make and what you write!....I want you to know-- I think you are great! Sending bright and happy vibes to you!
Even if I came late to the party, Happy Day! Too true about the dust - craft blogs make me feel connected and inspired. I can take a break from the role of a mother, without having to recant, repudiate or regreat that role. I don't know if I am making sense or just ramlbing now, it's too early on a Sunday morning.
Keep those posts coming, here is to another year!
*happy blogiversary*
have a great 2007!
xo

Funny, I heard a sinilar quote from Picasso...Art washed away the dust of every day life. Happy Blogiversary!
Congrats. I guess I just had mine in December, but I was so sick I forgot! Our house souns just like yours- I am cranky and tired, and if it wasn't for my blog escapism I don't know what I'd do! Keep up the great work! Emily
Happy Happy blogiversary!
I like the blog alert! Is it something new?
We have the crud too. Annie had more vomit/diarreha form though...I have the head cold thing. Ugh! Depressing. Keep your chin up. Maybe I'll see you guys at the fungus fair? I'll look for you in your red/blue shirt like mine.
With warmth,
Patrice
Happy Blogiversary. I just love the photo - tres beautiful!
[Please insert congratulatory, kind, and slightly wacky comment here. I'm too out-of-it to actually write one.]
I love your tins!
We definitely all have our moments. I know I have mine.
Happy Blogiversary. What a wonderful tribute to a year of blogging!

Happy Blogiversary ...
Congratulations Michelle! I love the photo you posted and I'm so darn thrilled I'm making time to post a comment. Both kids are napping at the moment. We had a house full of sickness throughout the holidays. I can sympathize. Be well.
Sorry you are feeling down. Happy blogiversary! I love and 100% recommend Airborne fizzy tabs to turn your icky cold around. It works great!
Happy Blogiversary to you! 'Hope you're feeling better by the time you read this...Now, I have a question for you that pops in my head every time your blog lights up my screen and given that we're celebrating your blog's first year of circulation, I thought it might be appropriate to ask it: I'm curious to know why you named it "Green Kitchen"?!...By the way, you don't really have to answer, I always like a mystery...
Congratulations on a milestone. I found your blog awhile ago and rudely have never commented (I think). I love the blankets you're making. Oh, and plan to go back and read your achives when I get some more free time (hope that doesn't sound spooky..)!! Enjoying it, so thanks!
I just had mine too! Happy happy! Blogging saved my life!
I love your blog - enjoy the unvarnished ramblings as well as your not so mute colours.
To many more years!

Happy aniversary and happy thoughts. Your picture is brilliant and I love your blog. I hope these words will encourage you to feel better.
Testing 1, 2, 3....
Since my name on my comment earlier didn't link to my blog, I'm trying it again.
I'm still very much a virgin to the blogging world.
It's my first time. Oh so exciting!
I'm still in Awe of Green Kitchen's Blogiversary.
If anyone knows how to do a link to the written blog posts, please share with me. It seems that everyone is linking to blogs and websites with ease. I just figured out the basic post from Flickr. I have no idea how to add links to my Flickr posts or posting from New Blogger. Thank you!
Happy Blogiversary! I'm looking forward to visit your blog in 2007 :-)
Cheers to you!
That is a very glamorous photo.
happy blogiversary (there, I said it too!) !!!
and look at your enticing tins, all shiny in the darkness. They look lovely, so they contain treasures?
I hope you are all feeling better and recovered from your ailments and nurse duties now.
those are gorgeous tins! happy blogiversary!
Oooh! oooh! I just found you blog and I love it already! I was Googling for "stained glass crochet" and ran across a post from November.
I just learned to crochet. My granny taught me on a recent trip (2 weeks ago) to the U.S. (I live in Tel Aviv, Israel.) I've been a crocheting fool ever since! I've finished several project and will be posting pics over at my blog soon.
Congrats on your blogiversary! Glad I found you!
Happy Blogiversary! I love your blog!
