Swap-a-roo and other mail, too
Finally got my bird ATCs into the mail for a swap that the lovely Kristin has organized — looks like lots of good company. While I was at it I also mailed a little something to Claire and Renata. Phew! Man it takes a lot for me to package things up and ship them out with the kidlets around. Who am I kidding — I never liked to post things even before kids. Next up is a mini quilt swap with Jules, which I'm really looking forward to.
For the bird swap I painted six paintings of the same composition and color. I've never done an exercise like that before. I was thinking a lot about Diana from One Blackbird while painting. I just love her scratchy drawing in clay.

I love the birds, the colors and the composition.
they turned out beautifully!!! the colors are wonderful :) can't wait to see them in person.
i love the colours, fabulous!
I really love this picture! I wish I could draw and paint well. My husband is both a fine and commercial artist and I am often envious of how he can get an idea in his head and make it materialize on a canvas or paper.
The colors in this are wonderful.
looks great! Hope I get to see one in person :-)
I really love everything about this, particulary the shape of the birds.. very nice.
Lovely! The gold leaf and green is a great combination. I'm so glad you included all the excellent links, too. :)
love it! the birds are perfect.
it takes me a while to get motivated to bring the mail to the p.o. but not before i feel up to actually packaging the orders. ugh.

The music notes are an adorable touch. At first I thought you made this with your printing press thing. Did you ever put that thing together and use it?
really cute birdies. It's come up a few time recently...do you think you could do a tutorial on how to watermark your photos?
Beautiful. I love the color combination!
Thanks gals. Again, another fun project.
Angelina: maybe you should post some of your husband's work sometime for us?
Alison: no printing press, yet. you know us, slow, slow, slow.
Carolyn: yep, i already did a watermark tutorial--it's in my July archives.
it turned out beautifully
This is beautiful. Really lovely.
Oh that is so pretty. Painting in repeats is always a good exercise, I fully endorce it!
I just wanted to tell you that I was lucky enough to receive one of your ATC's. I just love it. Thanks.
I like these lovely birds; and I like also the choice of the colors
Lovely birdies!
You painted that? Are you kidding me? WTF? Is there nothing you can't do, woman? Such talent.....!!
