Ulla and many others (I'm too tired to look up URLs right now, so if you have a dollhouse post, leave a comment with a link so we can go visiting.) have been posting about dollhouses in the last couple months, which got me thinking about these paintings I did for my mom's dollhouse many years ago. If I remember correctly, the top three are copies of some vintage prints we had around the house. If anyone knows who the artists are I'll give credit where credit is due. I think I used gouache. The tiny frames came from a miniature store, some are wood and some are metal. These are the actual size of the paintings. See my
Flickr for enlarged (or, enhugened, as Blaize would say) versions of these tiny paintings.

Oh my! These are completely and totally incredible. I don't even have a dollhouse, but I would still love to have something like this on my desk. They are amazing and awe-inspiring! Beautiful work! Hugs!!
Enhuge-ened. I don't know how to spell it. Embiggened. There. That's better. Now both you AND your husband have made me laugh aloud, all in one day. Although your husband made me laugh so much that my stomach muscles feel like I've been doing situps.
I was just thinking of what I might make to send to a friend who lives far away and who loves mushrooms and fairies and I thought I might paint a tiny mushroom painting to add to a care package. She's actually Ulla's neighbor (I used to live a couple of blocks from both of them). Anyway, it's funny how something can be in your mind and come up somewhere unexpected. I think your tiny paintings are really neat. I'm not personally into dolls, but if any of my friends' little girls end up with doll houses, this is a great gift idea!
So tiny. Wow.
These are wonderful!!! Years ago I was going to make a dollhouse 'gallery' and glued a bunch of 'tiny paintings' onto matt board. Never got farther then that... You make me want to find them and perhaps bring life to them again. I think that if one adds a few 'brush-strokes' onto the surface of the print, they look more real... just an idea.
(oh and Angelina, if you read this again - Lucille would LOVE a mini-mushroom painting...!)
my goodness, Michelle, those are tiny!
Those are so cool!
Oh I love these!!
Those are fantastic pictures. Love tiny paintings. And thanks for being the first comment person on my start into the blogging world.
