I wasn't happy with the way this project was turning out—too much time, too much money, too symmetrical. So, I took out the basting and rearranged. It reduced the number of squares I needed to make by ten and allowed me to immediately start sewing it together. As I was whipping this together I was thinking about
futuregirl because she goes out of her way to
not piece together her crocheting. Now I just need to work in the remaining 200 plus ends before revealing a finished shot. Wish me luck, I'm having a hard time not moving onto the next blankie, which, by the way, features rainbow colors. Stay on target. Stay on target.

Very, very pretty! You sure did master those bobbles, multicoloured ones too ... impressive!
The 200 blocks is such an amazing source of inspiration for me also. Can't wait to see this all sewn in & up .... right , that's it, you've given me the kick start I needed to finish off at least one of my projects.
Race ya (though I think you may beat me hands down so they'll be no wager, this time :D)
I am SO impressed! The only crochet project I have going is an afghan I started about five or six years ago. I am pitifully slow! I love the colours you've used and it all look so NEAT and SQUARE and, well, GOOD!
You have done wonderful job. I don't envy you having to darn in all those ends. I have an afghan that I stitched together two years ago and only half the ends have been dealt with.
Oooh, it's looking so nice. I look forward to seeing it all finished.
excellent-- your squares are so pretty!
I love the colors in this blanket. You picked a really nice mix of squares, too. :) You shout-out made me chuckle. I sympathize ... believe me.
Ooh I think it's absolutely GORGEOUS! Plus anyone with the attention span to do something like this gets my vote, LOL. =)
HI!
the work will compensate, I'm sure of it... The square are very funny and I'm waiting for the final result! Actually i'm waiting for the rainbow one... i love rainbows... but first things first! :)
bye, manela
this is so beautiful, so gorgeous! i want to do the same... (i am pregnant, so it would be a nice gift for our baby, too). but i have no experience with crochet... the colours are fantastic!
i really look forward to see the finished blanket...!!!
You have such a good eye for colour :)
The color combination in this cute blanket makes me smile. It's a happy little blankie, indeed.
Wow, I'm amzed you crocheted that entire thing! It looks like a quilt, it is so very lovely!
You can do it! :D
Mikaela
Excellent colors! :)
I love the color choices.
Way to go, Red Leader! Just don't get blown up.
That's really fantastic! I love the color choices. I'm adding you to my bloglines- so glad to meetcha!
This is so beautiful, looking forward to see the end result.
I love those colors!
OH HONEY! It's absolutely amazing. Just incredible.
YES! reworking a project that isn't going well..like remodeling. I love that concept and it works so well in other areas too! (gardening especially..jsut transplant.)
So pretty! LOVE the colors!
Wow - it's so lovely. You gotta finish that! Such nice colors, such nice stitching!
But seriously, start weaving the ends in NOW. They don't require concentration, just doing, it's a great mindless task for tv or movie watching or bus-riding... and if they're at least half done by the time you get the stitching done or the sewing, you'll finish. It's so so so much harder when everything is done but the ends.
Good luck, I can't wait to see it done!
I really like the colors and how it's like a new version of an old classic. Very nice job, everything looks like the right size .. no lopsided bits etc. I'm impressed.
I've been remiss in responding to comments. I'm sorry. Thank you all for you kind words. I'm glad the blankie makes you all happy. :) M
This is the exact colors of my nursery and if you sell projects like this could you let me know? I'd totally buy one!!! It's just gorgeous!
