Quilts--Inspired by Amy Karol
One of a series of small quilts I did for holiday gifts, inspired by Amy Karol at kingpod. At first I was hesitant to post these online because I felt that maybe I would be infringing on Amy's craft territory, but after reading Eireann's plagiarism post and related comments I thought it would be OK. My thinking is, that if we are inspired by other artists and crafters, it's a great compliment to be copied--as long as it is done with sensitivity and awareness. A nod to the original source is requisite, links to sites a must. Let's not let a few idea-stealers ruin the beauty of the generosity amongst this amazingly talented pool of artists, illustrators, photographers, painters, sewers, spinners, felters, crocheters, knitters, jewelers, cooks, and writers. The sharing is a large part of the beauty of this online community.

WOW. That is just beautiful. Although it is indeed small, and a quilt, the style doesn't seem to be Amy's at all. I really, really like this. And thank you for posting it!!!!! SO PRETTY.
Love it so so much!
wow! I love it and your blog:-)
That is absolutely beautiful. And I agree with Eireann that although you may have been inspired by Amy's quilts, you certainly don't seem to have copied her.
P.S. Thanks for dropping by my blog :o)
These are really sweet! I love the teapots and the cats - two of my favourite things :)
Cats and Teapots. The world is an excellent place.
these quilts are quite beautiful i must say. i respect that you give credit to Amy's work as your inspiration.
It turns out this quilt is by far my most viewed photo on Flickr--interesting. Thank you, Eireann, for encouraging me to post it. I'm also enjoying it and am finding it difficult to hand it off to the gift recipient--not very giving of me. I guess the remedy is to make more. They are so fun to make, I really encourage you all to try.
so surprising to be surfing around new blogs and to see this! it is lovely and completely your own, and thank you so much for the link and I am so happy you like my work.
you mentioned in a comment on eireann's site that you e-mailed me and never heard back? i never got it!-I swear! I would have never ignored an e-mail about small quilts:)!!

I'm so glad you found my site, and that you like the quilts. Thank you for being the inspiration! I had so much fun making them. Who knows about the email. Somethings go out into cyberspace never to land--a bit Major Tom-ish.
